March has been a great month for music in my opinion, and finally we reach the end of the month, and so it only seems right to round up some of my favourite music from march all in one post!
Now there was so much good music released in March that I cannot possibly fit it all in one post, as much as I’d love to, so here are just a few of my favourite releases:
XXXTentacion – “?”
For sure one of my favourite albums of the month, and even possibly one of my favourites of the year so far, the South Florida rapper quickly came to be one of my favourite artists after releasing this. Even after primarily listening to Indie music this month, I like to mix it up, and this emotional album was definitely one I enjoyed when winding down from a long day.
French Horn Rebellion & Patawawa – “Mr. Romantic”
Now if you read my blog on Patawawa, you would know I’m a big fan of their music and the funky tunes they produce, so when they teamed up with brothers that are ‘French Horn Rebellion’, it was music to my ears, literally. If I ever want to put myself in a feel-good mood, this is one of my go to songs at the moment for sure. The catchy beat will put an instant smile on your face, and who doesn’t want that right!?
The Magic Gang – “The Magic Gang”
A debut album from the band from Brighton, The Magic Gang really impressed me with this one. I featured this release last week as my ‘Album Talk’ album, and it was because it was just so good. Another feel-good album in my opinion, also featuring a couple of acoustic songs and a beautifully voiced tune in “Take Care”, This band are really going places.
The Fratellis – “In Your Own Sweet Time”
It’s like they never went away. The Fratellis have returned since their last album back in 2016, and have crafted an album with songs that you will instantly want to sing along to (or at least hum along if you don’t know the lyrics!). Recent single release “Stand Up Tragedy” features, and has potential to become a timeless classic from the Glaswegian trio, as was their single “Chelsea Dagger” all the way back in 2006.
The Vaccines – “Combat Sports”
Now this is a release you really need to listen to. Released only yesterday, “Combat Sports” gained instant love from myself, and is one I am definitely going to be listening to all through April. In classic Vaccines style, the album is full of guitar fuelled bangers, and is going to be my featured album on ‘Album Talk’ this Monday!
