Creature habits is the latest mixtape from the Leicester 5-piece band, Easy Life. The band came to my attention when listening to the new music section from apple music, and I knew instantly I had stumble across something great.
If you’re a fan of Jamie T, you are definitely going to love Easy Life. For sure an exciting band that are growing more and more, it feels like the band might just be the next big thing.
The bands EP features only 6 tracks, but every track makes you want to listen over and over again. The band even tweeted preaching for people to listen to the EP from start to finish and not in the wrong order, and I completely understand why, as every song rolls into the next one, making it sound like the songs never end.
The EP starts with a track called “0520”, which actually features no vocals, but that doesn’t seem to matter, as you immerse yourself in the variety of sounds they use on the instrumental. One of the great things about this EP is that in itself, the fact that they use such a variety of sounds to make each song unique.
The opener rolls into the second track “Pockets” with so much ease, and the band introduce their vocals, which will most certainly have you nodding your head to the tune. This is the kind of band I associate with hot weather in the summer, dancing (probably badly) at festivals, just having a mint time. The EP closes with “Slow Motion” a song that feels close to the heart, with lyrics that speak more than words, just slow down and relax, and this release is certainly one you don’t want to miss.
Can’t wait to hear more from this band in the future, and would definitely recommend giving them a listen, and I’m sure you will have the same opinion as me, that this is a band to get excited about.
Favourite song on the EP: Pockets
