Full Volumes Favourites: Chilled Albums

Yo, what’s going on everyone? I have had a really good week so far listening to some great music and just generally enjoying myself, and I have been revisiting some of my favourite chilled out music, whilst also discovering new stuff! I thought, everyone might not be having a great week like I am, and might need something to chill out, and what better to share with you lot than the albums I love that will relax you in no time.

Sampha: ‘Process’

One of my favourite artists to emerge from the U.K, Sampha has such a pure voice. Process is an incredible album, and is 100% sure to put you in that relaxation mood. Sampha is the complete package when it comes to his music, whether this be writing the songs, producing the songs or signing the songs, he has got it all. The album managed to scoop a mercury prize in its year of release and has been extremely well received by listeners.

Favourite Song: Timmys Prayer

SZA: ‘Ctrl’

One of Top Dawg Entertainments finest, SZA scored a number 3 album in the Billboard top 200 with Ctrl, and it isn’t hard to see why. A story of modern relationships, decisions and emotions, Ctrl is vocal perfection.

Favourite Track: The Weekend

Tom Misch: ‘Geography’

Recommended to me by Adam from Sounds Good, I have really gotten into this album, it is sheer brilliance. A very talented artist with some fantastic features makes for a great listen with Geography, as Tom dives into a new-found funk in comparison to his other releases. Looking forward to hearing more from this artist, but for now check this album out.

Favourite Song: Water Baby

Thundercat – ‘Drunk’

Thundercat Drunk

Third studio album from the incredibly talented musician and producer Thundercat, Drunk features many great guest features from the likes of Pharrell Williams, Kendrick Lamar and more. A jazzy album that will leave you wanting more, and is most certainly an album that can chill you out after the first track.

Favourite Song: Show You the Way

Rex Orange County: ‘Bcos U Will Never B Free’

Bcos U Will Never B Free

Up there with my favourite artists, Rex Orange County always hits them feels. A very humble musician with an incredibly loyal fan base, Rex doesn’t release as much music as his fans would like, but when he does it is nothing short of brilliant. Extremely chilled and emotional vibes, definitely check out Rex.

Favourite Song: A Song About Being Sad

Obviously, there were so many albums that could have made this list for me, and maybe if this post gets enough reception, I can do another one featuring some more albums! But for now, I hope these artists can keep you chilled, and links to listen to these albums can be found by clicking the titles!
